Our Cloudbet Sports Review in a Nutshell

As you can see they offer quite a few options for Bitcoin betting. Cloudbet is not only a Bitcoin sportsbook, but it’s also one of the best overall Bitcoin gambling websites due to the large amount of Bitcoin betting options they offer. Along with having many Bitcoin gambling options, Cloudbet offers the largest deposit bonus of any Bitcoin sportsbook, worth up to 5 Bitcoin.

Cloudbet App

In our Cloudbet review, we’ll cover all of the types of Bitcoin betting that they offer, including sports betting, live sports betting, casino games, and live casino games. We’ll also go into the details of everything else you might want to know before betting, including info on deposits, payouts, withdrawals, deposit bonuses, promotions, mobile betting, and customer service. If you have any questions regarding the Cloudbet website, we should have the answer for you in our full Cloudbet review.

App

Let’s get into it and take a look at what types of Bitcoin betting Cloudbet currently offers.

Types of Cloudbet Sports Betting

As mentioned previously, Cloudbet offers more than just sports betting on their website. Cloudbet.com offers sports betting (including live sports betting), casino games, and live casino games with real dealers. All betting that takes place on Cloudbet uses your choice of Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash as the currency.

Sports Betting at Cloudbet

The go-to game at Cloudbet is… Yep, you guessed it, sports betting! They’re in the forefront of the Bitcoin sports betting market having been around since 2012, only four years after the inception of Bitcoin itself.

They offer a solid set of sports betting options, even including eSports. Whether you consider eSports betting to be a part of “sports” or not, it’s very popular among younger generations, which probably coincides well with the demographics of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general.

Here are the sports betting options available at Cloudbet.com:

  • Football (American)
  • Aussie Rules Football
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Boxing
  • Cricket
  • Cycling
  • Darts
  • Entertainment
  • Futsal
  • Golf
  • Handball
  • Ice Hockey
  • MMA
  • MotorSport
  • Pesapallo
  • Rugby
  • Snooker
  • Soccer
  • Tennis

As you can see, there are a lot of options for sports betting at Cloudbet. If you’re looking to bet on a particular sport using Bitcoin, you’ll likely be able to find it here.

Live Sports Betting

Cloudbet also offers a large amount of daily live sports betting. Live sports betting is when you can bet on a game or match while it is being played. Typically, odds will fluctuate throughout the game depending on the current score. While odds are being updated you may see a lock logo on the game, indicating that you may not bet on the game in that moment.

Cloudbet actually has one of the fastest in-game live sports betting programs. Their odds are up for betting most of the time. With other sportsbooks who offer live betting, you may only be able to bet during breaks in the game. For instance during a timeout of an NFL game.

The Cloudbet.com Casino

If you’re looking for casino games to use your Bitcoin on, Cloud Bet is one of your top options. They have all the popular games, and their platform can be trusted.

Here are the casino games that are offered on Cloudbet:

  • Roulette
  • Blackjack
  • Baccarat
  • Video Poker
  • Slots

They have a huge amount of variations on each of the above casino games. Roulette, Blackjack, and Baccarat also have live tables available with real dealers.

Deposits

Deposits are made simple with Cloud Bet by using one of two forms of payment. Either Bitcoin (BTC) or Bitcoin Cash (BCH). No currencies are ever converted because the site is only focused on using Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. Once you create your account with Cloudbet, you simply send a Bitcoin transaction from another wallet to your Cloudbet wallet. When transferring your coins, as with all cryptocurrency transactions, be sure you have copied the wallet address correctly. One great thing about only using Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash is that there are virtually no fees to deposit or withdraw at Cloud Bet. The only fees are the small transaction fees incurred by making a Bitcoin or BCH transaction on the blockchain.

Currently, most Bitcoin transactions are confirmed within 10 minutes or so. When the Blockchain for BTC or BCH gets congested, like in times of high activity, confirmations can take slightly longer. You can watch the confirmations using your transaction ID data included in a link that should be provided by your sending wallet.

Before using Cloud Bet, you’ll need to familiarize yourself with the process of how cryptocurrency transactions work. You’ll want to be very comfortable sending transactions (we’d suggest testing it out with small transfers first). Once there is at least one confirmation on your transaction ID, it will show as pending and will shortly be added to your Cloudbet account.

Bonuses and Promotions

Does Cloudbet Offer a Deposit Bonus?

Yes, Cloudbet offers the largest deposit bonus of any Bitcoin sportsbook. Their deposit bonus is very generous with up to a 5 Bitcoin value, but you’ll need to make a large number of wagers to unlock the bonus. Sports bettors who plan on betting frequently will better be suited to take advantage of the deposit bonus.

Does Cloudbet Run Other Promotions?

Yes, Cloudbet runs many other promotions. In fact, they have a lot of really good promotions, both in their sportsbook and casino. If you sign up for their email subscription or follow them on Twitter or Facebook, you’ll see that they regularly run promotions.

Cloudbet VIP Club

Cloudbet also offers a VIP club for those bettors who want the highest limits and a more personal service. If you’re interested, visit the VIP tab after creating your account. With a VIP account, you’ll gain access to higher limits, fast and simple withdrawals, more bonuses, a dedicated account manager, VIP chat support, as well as special access to events and exclusive gifts.

Payouts

After winning a wager, payouts will become available in your account within a few minutes of the completion of the event. In our tests, we found that it took less than 10 minutes to get our winnings. Occasionally, the payout can take a little longer due to the results needing to be manually confirmed from a third party. Overall, payout speeds are very quick and nothing to worry about.

Withdrawals

Like deposits at Cloudbet, withdrawals are also executed through either Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash through the blockchain network. Withdrawals from your Cloudbet account typically take about an hour which includes the time for your transaction to confirm on the blockchain network. In our most recent tests, it took about 1 hour to receive our withdrawal into our separate Bitcoin wallet.

Mobile Betting on Cloudbet

Cloudbet’s mobile betting is second to none. The mobile responsiveness of their website, Cloudbet.com is extremely easy to use on a phone or tablet. It’s fast, smooth, and their design allows you to easily find whatever you’re looking for. It also makes it super easy to input your

Is there a Cloudbet App?

There is not a Cloudbet App yet. Cloudbet works so well on mobile devices, that there isn’t really a reason to have an app also.

Customer Service and Support at Cloudbet

Cloudbet’s support is very good and has been improving over time. They are becoming very quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Cloudbet has two separate ways to get in touch with their support team if you have an issue. To contact customer service or support you will either need to use the live chat on Cloudbet.com or send an email to support@cloudbet.com. The fastest option is going through the website chat when they’re available.

Our Final Thoughts on Cloudbet

We have found Cloudbet to be a very solid Bitcoin sportsbook. They haven’t quite reached the level that Nitrogen is at, but they’re gradually improving and adding to their sportsbook. Since they were founded in 2013, we’ve used them off and on with good results. Cloudbet has been one of the top Bitcoin sports betting industry since they showed up to town. Having been around for more than half a decade, they are now one of the more trusted Bitcoin betting sites. When it comes to a sportsbook, trust is one of the most important factors when choosing where to bet on sports with Bitcoin. Cloudbet is not only a good sportsbook, but they also offer a huge array of other forms of gambling.

As of now, Cloudbet is our second best sportsbook for Bitcoin sports betting. We rank them 4 out of 5 stars, which is #2, just behind Nitrogen Sports in our rankings of Bitcoin sportsbooks.

Summary

Cloudbet is my favorite casino for playing roulette online. The star attraction is actually their popular sportsbook, but their casino is equally well-run.

Their website is fast-loading and clean, their sign-up process is simple, and they have a good selection casino games from multiple games providers.

All you need to create an account at Cloudbet is an email address.

I don't want to say it's the perfect casino, but aside from accepting players from more countries it's hard to see what they can do much better. They're relatively small and new, but then that's also why they're so good.

I'm a big fan of bitcoin casinos, but I'm aware that if you've never played at one before it might seem scary at first. But once you do get over the initial learning-curve, playing at online casinos becomes a much more efficient experience.

I'd recommend anyone with gambling experience to try it out.

Company: Good

  • Halcyon Super Holdings B.V
  • Pareraweg 45, Curaçao
  • Curaçao
  • 8 years old

License:

Cloudbet was launched in November 2013, four years after Bitcoin was created. They were one of the very first bitcoin-only online casinos and sportsbooks, and have been running smoothly since their launch.

They're a quiet and unassuming company, which works in their favor when it comes to running an online casino for bitcoiners.

For the first five years they operated without a license, which is typical for bitcoin casinos (cryptocurrency simplifies transaction handling and allows you to operate more freely). However, in late 2018 they acquired a Curaçao license in a push to establish themselves as a trustworthy operation.

Consequently they restricted access to the site from some of the more regulated countries like the United States and United Kingdom, which is a shame. So whereas in the past they were more accommodating and liberal, they're now reducing their risk and limiting their global exposure.

I miss the old days of accepting players from everywhere, but I understand their decisions.

Cloudbet proven themselves to be a reliable company over the years, and they continue to travel in a steady direction. There's not much in the way of personality coming from them, but they offer a good casino and pay out quickly, and that's all that really matters in the world of online casinos.

Website: Excellent

Cloudbet has the best design of any casino website I have used. It's clean, fast-loading, and keeps out of your way when you're browsing through the games on offer. It's a prime example of good modern website design.

The color scheme is easy on the eye, and the games are organized in to logical sections using a Netflix-style side-scrolling layout. In fact, you can actually switch between 'dark' and 'light' color schemes, which is a feature that is typically found only on tech websites. I prefer the default dark scheme, but nonetheless it's a testament to the effort they have put in to building this website.

The ability to switch color schemes is a sign of skilled website design.

The website loads fast, so it's much more enjoyable to use than the old-school casino websites that have only gotten heavier and heavier over the years.

In summary, the website is an example of the kind of quality you can get when dealing with modern online casinos like Cloudbet. You'll notice the difference when you return to older online casinos after using the Cloudbet website.

Cookies. Clear your cache/cookies if you ever change your password and have trouble logging in. They seem to make an overzealous use of cookies that can sometimes cause problems.

Mobile: Excellent

  • Mobile: Yes
  • iPhone App: No
  • Android App: No

Cloudbet do not offer a downloadable app, so you have to use your mobile browser to visit Cloudbet instead. But thankfully the responsive design works well, and it works just as well as a native app would.

If anything the mobile website works so well it saves you having to download any unnecessary apps.

An excellent mobile design.

Add to home screen. You can usually 'add to home screen' on any website from within the mobile browser, and it will add a handy icon to your device's home screen for quicker access.

The simple and clean layout works well on mobile, making both the casino and sportsbook easy to navigate. It's a pleasure to use, and in all honesty a downloadable app would be superfluous when a responsive design works as well as this.

Most downloadable casino apps are just the standard website version wrapped up in an 'app' anyway, so I'm not going to take any points away from Cloudbet for not having a fully-fledged iOS or Android app.

So in short, Cloudbet works wonderfully on mobile devices. It's one of the benefits of playing at a newer online casino.

Games: Good

Roulette Variants:

  • Live Roulette:Yes
  • Racetrack:Yes
  • La Partage / En Prison:Yes

Providers:

There's a healthy selection of roulette games at Cloudbet. It's got all the classic variations (European, American, French) along with some of the more unusual and modern variants (e.g. Three Wheel Roulette).

Also, if you check out the Arcade section you'll find a rare version of Mini Roulette with a wheel that only has 12 numbers on it. The house edge is 6%, which is worse than even American roulette, but it's cool to see this game again after it seemingly disappearing off the face of the Internet for a few years.

Their Live Casino section is pretty pumping too. No shortage of roulette tables their either.

Even though Cloudbet has a good selection of roulette variants, not all of them may be available in your country. Sometimes they display the games as being playable, even if they're not. I'd recommend trying to load them beforehand to see if they work.

The only issue I sometimes have with the roulette games at Cloudbet is they are denominated in mBTC (one thousandth of a bitcoin). This can have two problems:

  1. You need to get used to exchange rates to know how much you're betting with.
  2. The minimum table limits can become restrictively high if the bitcoin price has had a recent major increase.

It's not a big problem, but the exchange rate is something that you need to be aware of if you're betting with bitcoin for the first time. The best thing you can do is keep a currency converter handy (I like Preev.com) and write down the exchange rates for common quantities of BTC so you familiarize yourself with them.

Banking: Excellent

Payment Methods:

  • Deposit Time: 1 Confirmation
  • Payout Time: Within 24 Hours

Don't deposit more than you're intending to gamble with. You need to play through 100% of your deposit before you can make a withdrawal from Cloudbet.

Cloudbet only accepts cryptocurrency for deposits and withdrawals, so you'll need to get some bitcoin to be able to gamble here. But on the plus side it means that deposits and withdrawals are usually instant.

Which is amazing.

It might seem like an extra step to buy bitcoin at first, but it's worth the effort. Using cryptocurrency for getting money in to (and out of) your account is much faster than traditional payment methods. Deposits are instant, and whilst they say that withdrawals can take up to 24 hours, from my experience they are usually instant too.

The cashier is entirely in cryptocurrency.

The fact that Cloudbet is a cryptocurrency-only casino is the reason why they're more efficient than other casinos; they're not weighed down under the paperwork involved with accepting credit cards and bank transfers, so they can use their energy to focus on building a great website and providing helpful support.

It might seem more convenient to have other deposit options available, but the fact that they only use cryptocurrency is what makes them so good.

Deposit Time. Deposits will only show up in your Cloudbet balance once your transaction has been mined in to the blockchain (i.e. 'confirmed'). So don't fret if your balance doesn't update immediately after making the transaction... just keep your eye on it in a blockchain explorer and wait for it to get confirmed.

Currencies accepted:

Here's a summary of the cryptocurrencies Cloudbet accepts:

SymbolCoinReleasedNote
BTCBitcoin2009The original cryptocurrency released in 2009.
BCHBitcoin Cash2017A fork of Bitcoin. Allows for more transactions, but risks centralization due to larger blocks. I do not recommend it.
ETHEthereum2009An advanced cryptocurrency that allows for more complex and programmable transactions. Comes at the price of a much larger blockchain.
LINKChainlink2017Can't tell you much about it.
USDTTether2014USD Stablecoin. Largest stablecoin. Issued by the Bitfinex exchange.
USDCUSD Coin2017USD Stablecoin. The second largest stablecoin. Official stablecoin of Coinbase.
PAXPaxos2018USD Stablecoin.
DAIMakerDao2017USD Stablecoin.
PAXGPaxos Gold2019Gold Stablecoin. Each token is backed by one fine troy ounce (t oz) of a 400 oz London Good Delivery gold bar.

I would stick to using Bitcoin if you're new. There are many other cryptocurrencies out there, but Bitcoin is the original and most stable.

Bonus: Good

5 BTC
  • 365 days
  • 0.01 BTC for every 800 loyalty points you earn

Bonus Release. You can withdraw any bonus money as soon as it's added to your main balance.

Cloudbet offers a unique type of bonus in the world of online casino bonuses. Instead of having a fixed requirement where you wager the bonus amount a fixed multiple of times, you redeem the bonus by earning loyalty points from every bet you make.

So it's different than normal bonuses, but also better.

For example, if you make a deposit of 0.02 BTC, you will get a bonus of an additional 0.02 BTC. You can then redeem every 0.01 BTC of bonus for every 800 loyalty points you earn (so we will need to earn 1600 loyalty points in total).

Loyalty points

Loyalty points are calculated as follows:

RTP stands for Return To Player, and it's basically the inverse of the house edge. So (100-RTP) is actually just the house edge for the game.

Converted Stake is value of the amount wagered in BTC converted to mBTC.

Example

So for example, European Roulette has a house edge of 2.70%. So for every 1 mBTC bet you make, you will earn the following number of loyalty points:

So to redeem our 0.2 BTC bonus we will need to earn 1600 loyalty points. If we are making 1 mBTC bets on European Roulette, we will need to wager a total of 1600 / 0.0216 = 74074.07 mBTC, or 74.07407 BTC.

Effectively this means you need to wager 370x the bonus amount to redeem the full bonus if playing European roulette.

The good thing about this bonus is that all casino games contribute to the wagering requirements fairly. Most other online casinos unfairly discount the contribution of table games like roulette, and only reward you for playing addictive slot games.

House edge

Here's the house edge and corresponding loyalty points earned at the more popular casino games for every 1 mBTC you wager:

Cloudbot Api

House EdgeLoyalty PointsWagering Requirements
European Blackjack0.61%0.00491639x
French Roulette1.35%0.0108740x
European Roulette2.70%0.0216370x
American Roulette5.26%0.0420190x

The lower the house edge for the game, the more you need to wager to redeem the full bonus.

Support: Good

  • Live Chat
  • n/a

I've always liked the support at Cloudbet. The main method for contacting support is through their Live Chat, and from my experience you'll be speaking to a real human being in less than a minute.

The support I've received has always gone slightly above what I was expecting, and the staff have been clear and friendly. If you ever have a question that they cannot answer there and then, they'll look in to it and get back to you by email, which is usually the same day.

Cloudbet are still relatively small compared to the major online casinos, and so they have much more time for helping their players. It's usually the case that the smaller the casino, the more personal the support.

The support at Cloudbet is reassuringly good. I kinda hope they stay small forever so it can continue to be as good as it is now.

Conclusion: A

Cloudbet is the flagship casino for bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. They've been around since 2013, and they're currently the biggest and most reliable bitcoin casino we've got.

Overall, Cloudbet is small and solid. Their support is good, their website is as fast as their withdrawals, and they're an insight in to the future of how modern online casinos will run.

As I say, bitcoin might not be your thing, and in that case you'll want to stick to the more old-school online casinos with traditional payment options.

But if you're already a bitcoin user, or looking to get your feet wet using cryptocurrency, Cloudbet is the best bitcoin casino you're going to find.
